I have been in this business for longer than I care to remember. Language learning and teaching have always been more of a passion to me than a job. I feel strongly that the experience that the young people have with us is one that they will remember for a very long time and what I love about our team is that we all care about what we do.
English is an ever more important language in the world and yes, it is a huge benefit to these young people to come to the UK to learn it. But, I believe that it is also a huge benefit to them to experience a different culture, be away from home and have to cope with all that entails and meet and befriend people their own age from all over the world.

Incoming flights from all over the world. Thousands of international students and group leaders. The management, teaching and sports teams that make us so good. Wonderful centres in fabulous locations. Visiting cities of culture and history. Designing exciting and appealing English language courses. These are all snippets of what makes UKLC so exciting and at times challenging.
But I like the fact that what we do is fun and that no two days are the same. I like the buzz of visiting a summer camp and seeing our staff enjoying themselves, to ensure that every young person who visits us to learn English enjoys themselves.
CAROLYN RENNOLDSONRECRUITMENT MANAGER
Coordinating the recruitment of the management teams, teachers and sports staff for our camps is a challenging role. I take a great pride in the fact that by the time our camps starts, that I have built a relationship with each and every single person who is working for us. Most importantly, confidently knowing that working for UKLC will be a fun, well-organised and hugely satisfying experience for all involved. The fact that we have such a large staff returnee rate speaks volumes about our company.

CELTA in 2003, yay! Jet off to Portugal for 12 years, yay! Work with several British summer schools, meh! I was a little apprehensive when I was taken on as a full-time teacher with UKLC in 2015. However, right from the induction day, I knew this was different. It was professional, organised and above all, welcoming. Everyone was just so lovely! There’s a buzz, it’s fun, supportive and friendly. UKLC’s mission is to educate, inspire and enrich the lives of young people, well I think that ethos extends to everyone they work with!
There is nothing more rewarding than to hear students say, “I’ve learned more in this one week than a whole year back at school!”. I’m proud to be part of the team that gives students this unforgettable experience and I’m looking forward to seeing where my new role as Academic Coordinator in head office will take me!

Since joining the UKLC team in 2016 as a Safeguarding and Welfare Coordinator, I have loved every moment! From participating in the Erasmus+ Project (January 2018) teaching in A Coruna, Spain, to being more involved in the English teaching during the summer as a TAL, I have learnt so much and gained a lot of confidence from working for this fantastic company. I am very grateful to now be working in the office, helping with the recruitment side of things so that I can offer other people these amazing opportunities. It is a brilliant, welcoming, and inclusive company that enriches the lives of young people, as well as it's staff.
Jordan CooperMinistay Co-ordinator
I began working for UKLC in 2013 as a Sports and Activity Instructor, in the summer break of my first year of University. I immediately felt welcomed into the company through the induction processes and how friendly all the staff were. After a successful first summer, I continued to work seasonally for UKLC at the Chester Parkgate site as the Excursion and Activity manager. I am now grateful to say I work for the company full time as their Ministay Co-ordinator in which I manage all our out of summer visits from students. The growth and support you receive at UKLC is something I can’t compare to any other company I have worked for. We all work together, and we achieve amazing results.

In 2012 I was lucky enough to be a part of UKLC’s Erasmus programme in France. From then I started working as a Teacher and Activity Leader. I’ve worked every summer since, becoming a centre manager and most recently, joined the fabulous family in our Head Office as support for our summer and mini-stay sales and operations. Progressing over the past 6 years has meant that I have seen all aspects of the business and every day with UKLC is different, developing and exciting. It has given me the chance to be around amazing, inspiring students, enabled me to a see our product in action and be a part of the process that brings them to the UK!
Working for this company gives me immense pride and being a part of this industry is rewarding every day. We aim to educate, inspire and enrich our students but I feel like we also are educated, inspired and enriched by just being a part of this team.
